Is Text Spam Legal?

Whoever is sending you unsolicited text messages is almost certainly attempting to commit fraud against you. According to the Federal Trade Commission's guidelines, it is against the law for a third party to send unsolicited or spam commercial text messages to a cellular device unless they first get authorization from the recipient.
