It follows a similar proposal that was signed into law in 2016, called the Better Online Ticket Sales Act (BOTS Act), which made it illegal to use automated bots to acquire tickets for public events and made it illegal for scalpers to sell those tickets. This new proposal follows in the footsteps of that law.
