Is Divorce Legal In Lebanon?

Lebanon's 15 recognised faiths each have their own set of personal status rules, but the country does not have a civil code that addresses problems such as custody of children, divorce, or property rights. These rules are enforced by independent religious tribunals, which are subject to very little or no scrutiny from the government, and they often make decisions that violate the human rights of women.
