Why Are My Messenger Messages Not Popping Up?

If you are not receiving alerts when new messages come, you may alter your notification settings by visiting the app settings and making sure that Messages is chosen under the Notifications heading. If you still are not getting notifications, the problem may be with the app itself. When you get the Messenger app back up and running, the Facebook app should no longer give you notification alerts for new messages automatically.
