You may create a contact from a message that you get in your email. Launch the e-mail message that includes the name you want to add to your contact list, or at least do a quick preview of it. Simply give the sender's name a right-click, bring up the context menu, and choose the option to Add to Contacts. The sender will then be added to your list of contacts.
