Raw, unripe mangoes known as keri or kairi are used in the production of amchur powder. After that, the mango chunks are mashed into a powdery consistency. Because of this, Amchur is also known in English by the name dried mango powder. The term "am" is a shortened version of the Hindi word "aam," which signifies mangoes. The word "chur" or "choor" means to crush, crumble, or powder.
