What Are IRC Networks?

IRC, which stands for "Internet Relay Chat," is a protocol that was developed in 1988 with the purpose of enabling real-time text chat between computers that are connected to the internet. Even though it enables private messages between two users, data transmission, and a variety of server-side and client-side commands, its primary use is for group discussion in chat rooms that are referred to as "channels." This kind of conversation is the most common usage for it.
