Why Did Blizzard Remove Spit Emote?

The option to utilise the /split emote on other players was surreptitiously disabled by Blizzard. There has been no official explanation for why this update was withdrawn, however users assume it was due to the toxicity of the emote and its use on players who purchase cosmetics from the store.
