According to the CIA World Factbook for the year 2021, 61.1 percent of the people living in Lebanon are Muslims (30.6% Sunni, 30.5 % Shia, with smaller percentages of Alawites and Ismailis), and 33.7 percent are Christians (mostly Maronites, Eastern Orthodox, Melkite Catholics, Protestant, Armenian Apostolic, Assyrian Church of the East, and Syriac).
