When I have two different pairs of items, and each individual item in each of the pairs is the same sort of object, I refer to it as having "four of a kind." Take, for example, the case when they are all oranges. To me, that's equivalent to saying "four oranges." The pairness of any two of the oranges has been absorbed into the total fourness of the four oranges, both collectively and singly.
