It may be helpful to raise our voices if we want to stop our child from pursuing the ball into the street when they do it. According to Grasso, yelling at children, shouting at them, or threatening them in order to encourage them to start or stop a behaviour is counterproductive and raises the likelihood that children may have emotional or behavioural issues in the future.
