When you aren't prepared to face the scrutiny of the general public, switching to stealth mode is a smart move. In most cases, it is the period of time just before the product is ready to be released. When I say launch, I can imply a secret beta test or one that is by invitation only. Being in stealth mode does not imply that no one is aware of what you are doing; rather, it indicates that you are being selective.
