How Many States Have Health Information Exchanges?

Awards were given out to a total of 56 different states, eligible territories, and qualifying State Designated Entities (SDE). The State Health Information Exchange Cooperative Agreement Program provides funding for state initiatives that aim to quickly establish capacity for the exchange of health information throughout the health care system, both within and across states.
